Winning Nishiukima Eagles in Itabashi Ward
The 40th Miyakonojo Kita Youth Baseball Autumn Tournament (sponsored by the Miyakonojo Kita Youth Baseball Association and supported by the Tokyo Shimbun, etc.) was held on the 17th and 18th at the Todabashi Baseball Stadium in Itabashi Ward, Tokyo, where the Nishiukima Eagles ( North) defeated the Horiko Swallows (Suginami) and stood at the top of the 57 participating teams.
In the final, Nishiukima got the first inning, leading Higashihigen with a hit to left front, and then advanced to third base, where Towa Kuroda hit back to the left to open the scoring. In the 4th inning, he added 1 point, and in the 5th inning, Kuroda and captain Seiko Omura added 2 points in a timely manner, giving them an advantage. Pitcher Nanato Deguchi shut out the pitcher and won the game.
Captain Omura said, “I told everyone to fight with a strong heart. Pitcher Deguchi said, “I tried to keep a clean sheet so that everyone could participate. Both the pace and the course were good. It’s really great to win.”
