Marc Marquez Threatens to Withdraw from Honda!

Contract Marc Marquez with Honda just ended two more seasons. However, if the Japanese manufacturer is not able to help him perform well next year, he threatens to leave early and look for a new team.

It is known, the combination of Marquez and Honda has produced six world champions in the premier class, 100 podiums and 63 pole positions. However, during the last three seasons, the racer nicknamed The Baby Alien has been injured more often than winning races.

“I have a lot of respect for Honda, because the way they handled my injury, the way we talked and the way they treated me felt very special. I know it’s not normal, but it’s special, and I will always have full respect for Honda,” Marquez was quoted as saying. from MotorsportMonday (26/12/2022).

Marquez confirmed that injury is not the only reason why he has performed poorly over the past few seasons. According to him, a less competitive motor to be one cause. Now, Honda’s mounts are considered unable to compete with other factory teams such as Ducati or Yamaha.

If the conditions remain the same and do not change, Marquez admits that he has no doubts about leaving the orange team. Because, as one of the best riders in MotoGP, Marquez just wants to win.

“Now (at the end of) 2022, my mind is only on getting back to the top. Then of course if I can’t, because I feel I don’t have the (competitive) tools, I will try to find the best team for me. And this is something that has been I told the manufacturers,” he said.

Furthermore, Marquez emphasized that Honda is one of the dream teams of many MotoGP riders. However, if he is unable to provide the best motorbike, this status does not prevent him from changing teams.

“In the previous contracts, I respected them a lot and Honda always had the first option, and I didn’t speak to anyone, only Honda,” he said.

“So, yes, for the future we will see. You never know. As I said, Honda is Honda, it is my dream to stay at Honda. But my biggest dream is to win the championship,” Marquez added.
