Luka Doncic is already NBA history: he signs a triple double of 60 points and 20 rebounds

the slovenian Luka Doncic signed on Tuesday first triple double of at least 60 points, twenty rebounds and ten assists in league history NBA and led an epic comeback for the Dallas Mavericks against the New York Knicks (126-121).

The Mavericks trailed 112-103 with 33.9 seconds left in the fourth quarter, but a 12-3 run, capped off with a spectacular basket by Doncic, allowed the Texans to force an extension in which they completed their comeback.

Doncic signed the best performance of his career, with 60 points, 21 rebounds and ten assists and gave him he snatched the German Dirk Nowitzki the record for points in a game with the Mavericks. Never in NBA history had a triple double of this level been recorded. Doncic, at 23 years old, wrote a new page for legend of the American league and ended up being applauded by the public at the American Airlines Center.

And that several Mavericks fans had left the stadium before the last minute, seeing the Mavericks nine points behind the Knicks and already, apparently, with no chance of coming back. Those who left are lost one of the most unexpected comebacks As always, with the Mavs who went 9-1 in 18 seconds and 12-3 in 30 seconds.

Doncic scored 18 points on 8-of-11 shooting in the fourth quarter and the last two came after purposely missing a free, with two seconds in the light. The Slovenian picked up the rebound and scored two points that tied the game 115-115 and forced overtime. Joy mixed with disbelief and Doncic celebrated his move by jumping up and down and laughing like a kid, in a crazed American Airlines Center.

Earlier, the ex-madridista gave Dinwiddie his tenth assist of the game for him to score a momentous three-pointer to fuel the hopes of the Texans.

In extra time, the Slovenian continued to lead to theirs. First from the free throw line and then with a shot falling backwards that made it 122-117 and put the sentence on the duel. Coach Jason Kidd carried him off the track with less than ten seconds to play and Doncic received a heartfelt ovation of his fans after an epic night.

“I’m super tired,” was the first comment from a still incredulous Doncic at the end of the Dallas game. “I think i just got lucky, we had two seconds, I shot the ball and I was lucky. We were losing by ten points, it’s incredible”, added the Slovenian, upon receiving the play with which he forced overtime.

Doncic improved his points record with 60, after the 51 signed last year against the Los Angeles Clippers, and rebounds (21).

For the Mavs, Dinwiddie’s 25 points and Christian Wood’s 19 points and nine rebounds also stood out. His extraordinary performance left the 33 points scored by Quentin Grimes and the double double of 29 points and 18 rebounds by Julius Randle without reward.
