Rihards Matrevics, the main goalkeeper of the Latvian football champion team “Valmiera FC”, has decided not to play in the Vidzeme team and is moving to another Latvian Premier League club “Riga FC”.

The 201-centimeter-tall and 23-year-old Matrevic is a student of the “Babīte” football school.
In 2015, at the age of 15, Richard signed a contract with the well-known academy of the English Premier League club “West Ham”. In this club, Matrevic played in the U18 and U23 teams. After that, Matrevic played for three years in the English clubs “Barnet” and “Hendon”.
The last two seasons, Matrevic played in “Valmiera”. This year, Rihards became the Latvian champion. During two seasons in the Latvian Championship, Matrevics played 62 games and kept 22 clean sheets.
