La Ceja is tenth in the medal table: this is how the Departmental Games go

After more than a week of competitions in the Departmental Games, several champions in different disciplines are already known. For example, El Peñol finished first in women’s basketballand Medellín won the women’s handball, indoor soccer, and volleyball tournaments.

Itagüí won in women’s futsal, as well as in wrestling. Apartadó conquered women’s soccer and wants to win the weightlifting championship. Likewise, El Carmen de Viboral took over cycling and, meanwhile, this Tuesday other disciplines will be developed.

    Regarding the medal table, the Apartadó delegation accumulates 86 gold medals, 14 more than Medellín, which reached 72and 31 more than Itagüí who, with 55 gold medals, is third.

    Fourth and fifth places are held by Sabaneta with 30 golds and Envigado with 28. The top 10 of the metals table is completed by Turbo, who is sixth (27 golds); seventh is Chigorodó (15), eighth is Carepa (14), ninth is Bello (13), and closes the La Ceja step with 9 golds.

    On Monday, December 12, the men’s basketball, handball, baseball, indoor soccer, indoor soccer, soccer, and volleyball tournaments began.
