Kyrgios and Verdasco’s sanction: “I can’t say I’m surprised”

Nick Kyrgios has brought out his most controversial side again in recent hours on social networks. The Australian tennis player has published a tweet on social networks addressed to the Spanish tennis player Fernando Verdascowith whom he had already had his ups and downs through the networks in previous episodes.

Kyrgios shared a tweet in which journalist Reem Abulleil reported the news that Fernando Verdasco had accepted a two-month sanction for forgetting to renew his TUE to use methylphedinate to treat his attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. A piece of news to which Kyrgios reacted like this: “I can’t say I’m surprised by this.”

It is not the first time that Kyrgios has attacked Verdasco through social networks. At the 2018 Miami Masters Kyrgios wrote a tweet that he later deleted about Verdasco noting that Verdasco was “the hottest guy on the circuit, he must be frustrated by his previous matches against Australian tennis players”, In a message that Verdasco himself replied: “When you have the courage to post a tweet insulting another player, you need to have the same courage not to delete it.”

A pique that followed at the US Open that same year, when Verdasco had an argument with Andy Murray in his match and Kyrgios sided with the Scotsman, ensuring that after episodes like these he is more dangerous. “It’s true and it’s even more credible because it’s about Verdasco,” he said.
