Hamza Maimon and Isa Conteras, great winners of the Sports Gala

The ICD 2021 Annual Sports Awards Gala was held again this Thursday at the Revellín Auditorium. The Gala’s great winners were Hamza Maimon, a Levante Futsal player, and Isa Contreras, the great Olympic paddler from Club Los Delfines.

The event was attended by a regular guest such as the historic José Ramón López Díaz-Flor, who gives the trophy to the best male athlete its name, and Susana Román who awards the female one. There were also renowned athletes such as the badminton player and world champion, Carolina Marín, as well as a large representation of the Spanish Canoeing Team.

The jury of the Annual Sports Awards also presented the ‘Enrique Hernández’ trophy, to the best teacher of 2021, which went to Mari Carmen Bernet, from the Abyla Institute and this educational center won the ‘Manolo Herrera’ award. The ‘Antonio Campoamor’ trophy, for the best sports federation, went to the Sailing Federation and the ‘Valentín Cabillas’ trophy for the best club or sports association, went to AD Ceuta FC, which won this award after its last two promotions in a row that have led him to the First RFEF.

On the other hand, the ‘José Castillo-Juanele’ trophy went to Cristóbal Mateo of the Sepai karate Club and the best referee, the ‘Pepe Cózar’ trophy, went to Sukaina Hamed, a basketball collegiate. The ‘Cristina Bernal Cerdeira’ award for the best athlete under 16 years old went to the karate athlete Candela Muñoz, from Club Sepai.

Lastly, the award for his sporting career with the ‘Pepe Bravo’ trophy has been for Sergio Aguilera, who until 2022 has been linked to CN Caballa. The ‘Mariano Díaz Mesa’ trophy, also for his dedication to sport, went to Víctor Íñiguez. One of the novelties in this Sports Gala was the new award in the name of the deceased journalist ‘Juanma Navas’, which in this first edition has gone to the Solidarity Photographers Association.
