GROSSETO – The first appointment of 2023 for Grosseto basketball, the PalaAustria in Grosseto hosts the fifth edition of the Luciano Monaci Memorial. A national tournament, sponsored by FIP and the Municipality of Grosseto, dedicated to the Under 13 category which in recent editions has so far seen 21 teams from all over Italy as protagonists. This is the Under 13 Memorial Luciano Monaci Hall of Fame:

Young basketball players will rediscover the joy of facing each other and confronting each other on the parquet remembering the memory of coach Luciano Monaci, teacher for many generations of Grosseto basketball players, whose commitment, spirit of sacrifice and passion profuse for young people and for physical activity have been his hallmark and now they will be his great legacy.
After the 2022 edition which took place over two days dedicated to both the Under 13 and the Under 14 (the latter did not play the Tournament in 2021 due to a stop due to the pandemic) this year the event will return to the initial format: 2 days, the 6 and 7 January, completely dedicated to the 2010 vintage Under 13 category.
In addition to the hosts of Pallacanestro Grosseto, the formations of: Olimpia Legnaia Firenze, Don Bosco Livorno, Poggibonsi Basket, Calcinaia Basket and Costone Siena will be present.
As has been the case for some time now for the internal matches of Pallacanestro Grosseto, all the matches of the Memorial Monaci 2023 will be broadcast in live streaming on our YouTube channel.
The Monaci Memorial also this year wants to dedicate its commitment to the area by contributing to the fundraising for ABIO GROSSETO. The ABIO GROSSETO association has been operating in the pediatric department and in the pediatric emergency room at the Misericordia hospital (GR) since 2003.
