Doping, ATP – WTA > John Millman (following Verdasco’s suspension): “I think Simona Halep is innocent. If she really wanted to improve her performance with a substance, she could have used a TUE”

Following Fernando Verdasco’s two-month suspension for forgetting to renew his Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) for a drug banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) for a condition he suffered from as a child , John Millman expressed himself on his Twitter account in order to rebel against this practice which is far too common for his taste.

“In general, I really don’t like TUEs in professional sports. This opens up far too many loopholes for “legally doping” – very unfortunate for those with a legitimate need, as is probably the case here. However, it has long been known that if you want to do drugs, get a TUE”launched the Australian player before estimating that Simona Halep, recently suspended for two years for doping, was probably innocent.

“Besides, this is one of the reasons why I believe Simona Halep is innocent. If she really wanted to improve her performance with a substance, she could have used a TUE. I sincerely believe that she is innocent and I hope she returns to the courts soon. »
