D’Angelo Russell drives Timberwolves win over Jazz

SALT LAKE CITY, UT (AP) — D’Angelo Russell scored 20 of his 30 points in the fourth quarter, Rudy Gobert had 22 and 13 rebounds in his return to Utah and the Minnesota Timberwolves defeated Friday 118-108 to the Jazz.

Rudy Gobert was sold to Minnesota over the summer. The French center spent his first nine NBA seasons with the Jazz.

Malik Beasley led Utah with 23 points. Jordan Clarkson had 21 and Mike Conley had 17 points and six assists in his return to the field after nine games out with a left leg injury.

Utah cut the Wolves’ double-digit lead on the scoreboard in the third quarter on Conley’s 3-pointer that earned them a 79-79 tie. But the Jazz couldn’t get ahead after missing five straight baskets late in the period.

Minnesota caught air again at the end of the fourth quarter thanks to consecutive three-pointers from Russell that allowed them to pull away 112-104.
