cribs Judo: little girls loving the tatami

It is sometimes very difficult to contain the enthusiasm of the young judokas of Bressols. Throughout the week, the children join the big dojo with a shared fervor, that of being able to be in contact with a sport that gives them many pleasures, and even beyond. The child, by diligent practice of judo, develops his strength, his speed, his flexibility, his coordination, his reflexes, but also his concentration, his balance, his resistance, his personality, self-confidence and knowledge of his own body. This is a program that Bressol educators have in mind in their sessions. During the first training sessions from an early age, the child discovers the rituals that the teacher will impose on practitioners. The greeting from the mat, the formal ban on walking on a tatami with your shoes on, the greeting at the beginning of the lesson to the teacher and the greeting from your training partner before each work in pairs. “Values are essential, you need great mutual respect so that everyone can find their place,” says an educator.

Judokas lined up

These greetings symbolize the marks of respect towards the place, well identified in the great dojo of Bressols; the teacher, and also the thanks to his training partner for the opposition he will give. On weekdays, the children are picked up from elementary school by the club leaders and they only have to cross the large parking lot to reach the yellow and blue tatami mats. “The greeting at the start of class also highlights the place of each of the practitioners since the judokas are lined up in order facing the teacher, a real ritual.” The parents are there, wise and attentive, to see these movements so symbolic of the martial art. Everyone tightened their belts, face-to-face, to give Bressols judo all the success it deserves.
