British businessman invested in 18,000 England champion shirts | World Cup Qatar 2022

Before the World Cup party began in Qatar, England appeared as a comfortable selection to reach the round of 16 in a group which, when push came to shove, they easily overcame, entering the next round unbeaten. They also left Senegal behind, but in the quarterfinals they could not beat France, being eliminated and losing their losing streak.

Thus ended the adventure of England, who, prior to the start, was emerging as one of the candidates to keep the title. The illusion was intact in that ‘It’s Coming Home’ that has persisted since 1966 when they won their first and only World Cup as hosts, in addition. In football, as in any other discipline, you don’t have to get ahead of the facts.

But, it seems that all of England thought that after finishing fourth in 2018, Qatar would be the right time to claim the title. For this reason, an English businessman envisioned a completely English World Cup and with his company, Wholesale Clearance UK they dared to invest in 18,000 shirts with the message, “England, world champions 2022. Football has finally come home” .

Now, as they say in Colombia, he was left ‘without chicha or lemonade’, since England was eliminated in the quarterfinals, and the businessman was left with a figure of 18,000 commemorative shirts. Sure, he will be able to sell it, but the big question would be, who would dare to buy it? A huge tusa will live on British soil and surely no one would want to go out like that.

In conversation with the Independent, the businessman mentioned, “I am devastated that England is out. The first performances in Qatar had impressed me a lot and I was convinced that this time we would have managed to win. A supplier offered me the investment and I couldn’t say no. But now I have 18,000 t-shirts saying we won and I don’t know what to do with them. I would like to appeal to the English – buy even if it’s just one, it will still be a piece of history and a reminder of how well we played in the 2022 World Cup. Even if our team didn’t succeed, they are still the winners in my opinion ”.
