Biathlon World Cup stage. Sprint for men / Article

Rastorgujev has number 47 in the start protocol, but two more Latvian representatives, Aleksandrs Patrijuks and Edgars Mise, will go on the track with numbers 69 and 105, respectively. 105 athletes have applied for the competition.

Rastorgujev returns to the World Cup circuit after an 18-month suspension for an anti-doping violation. Andrejs planned to participate in the previous stage of the World Cup, where he was included in the start list in the 20-kilometer individual distance, but he did not participate in the distance, because the International Biathlon Union (IBU) determined that he did not meet the qualification standard. Rastorgujev fulfilled the necessary requirements at the beginning of December at the stage of the IBU Cup, where he took 3rd place in the sprint.

In the continuation of the World Cup stage in Hochfilzen on Saturday, Baiba Bendika will start in the pursuit distance for women and there will be a relay for men, while on Sunday the ladies will compete in the skiing and shooting relay, and the men will still compete in the pursuit.

Nine stages of the World Cup are planned for the season – the last of them in mid-March in Norway.
