With several embezzlements, the Los Angeles Rams announced that quarterback John Wolford would be the team’s starter. However, soon Baker Mayfield, hired Tuesday, took the post and commanded an incredible comeback. With 22 completions of 35 attempts for 230 yards and a touchdown, he got the victory in the last few seconds. The team’s running game didn’t work, with only 71 yards. However, the receivers contributed well in the air with 211 total passing yards.
Wolford was the third player to start a game at quarterback and not attempt a pass.
Las Vegas Raiders came packed after victories and were already making accounts for the playoffs, but with the defeat the chances drop dramatically. Quarterback Derek Carr did not perform well with 11 completions of 20 attempts and two interceptions. Running back Josh Jacobs, who played part-time with an injured finger, had 99 rushing yards on 27 attempts and added 15 yards on two catches. Receiver Davante Adams had three catches for 71 yards.
