Byzantine Archers Ravenna Shine with Personal Bests and Podium Finishes at IX City of Bondeno Trophy

It is precisely the case to say “few but good” for the Byzantine Archers Ravenna, who on Sunday 12 May at the IX City of Bondeno Trophy had their fill of personal best podiums, demonstrating a constant improvement in performance. A match played on 72 arrows at long distances and without direct clashes. Double medals in the individual AN master: gold medal and personal best for Simone Pizzi with a score of 613 (305+308) MM and gold medal and personal best also for Sabrina Bandini with a score of 509 (245+ 264) for the MF category. The third medal comes from Nicola Barlotti, boys class, OL division, who with a score of 620 (305+315) wins the silver medal and also raises the bar for his personal best. No individual podium (5th in the standings) but personal record for Loris Miolo, AN MM, with 501, in his second race and with improving performances. Fourth place for Massimo Venturi with 543 (282+261) again for the AN MM. However, for the three bare bow masters the team podium arrived: Pizzi, Venturi and Miolo won the team gold medal for the AN MM, with a score of 1657. This score together with the 1688 obtained last October at the Italian Master Cup in Castenaso da Tozzola-Pizzi-Venturi, places the Byzantines in third place in the qualifying ranking list for the next Italian Targa Shooting Championships which will be held in early September in Lucca. Also on Sunday, the Ring Trophy was held in Cervia, as part of the historic and traditional event of the Marriage of the Sea, a unique competition of its kind where archers must try to hit targets of varying sizes from a distance of 15 metres. And if the first arrows are warm-up arrows on targets the size of a CD, as the competition progresses, the archers who pass the round have to deal with increasingly smaller targets, up to the size of a 2 euro coin. And so it was for Sofia Fuschini, who reached the final phase and hit the two chalk disks, achieving an excellent second place, behind only a veteran of the competition, Luca Gentili of the ASD Seven Arrow of Rimini which she won. Third place went to Giacomo del Pizzo, also from Seven Arrow from Rimini.
