ATP > Medvedev (about Federer, Nadal and Djokovic): “Look at a great legend like Pete Sampras, he has almost half as many Grand Slams as them. How do they do it? I don’t know, they’re just the better”

Currently in Saudi Arabia for the Diriyah Cup where he qualified for the semi‐finals this Thursday after a victory against the returning Alexander Zverev (6−0, 6–4), Daniil Medvedev gave an excellent interview to our Argentine colleagues of Clay in which he attempts to explain why the Big 3 has performed so well for almost 20 years.

“It’s hard to say if it’s mentally or purely a tennis problem… They’re just stronger than any of us. By saying that, I mean we can beat them all in some games, yes. Even looking at my face to face with Novak. I beat him four or five times (Djokovic leads 8–4). But if you look at the history of tennis, there is no one who equals them. In terms of Grand Slams, nobody comes close. Look at a great legend like Pete Sampras, he has half the Slams from them. How do they do ? I don’t know, they are just the best. »
