ATP, Exhibition > Alcaraz swept away by Rublev for his comeback!

“I’m going to have a target on my back all year, I have to prepare for it”declared tout recemment Carlos Alcaraz.

A month and two weeks after his retirement against Holger Rune in the quarter-finals of the Paris-Bercy Masters 1000, due to an abdominal injury, Carlos Alcaraz returned this Saturday to the Mubadala World Championships, an exhibition tournament which takes place from December 16 to 18 in Abu Dhabi.

The world number 1 lost heavily (6-2, 6-1) against an Andrey Rublev already on the pace and who fell in the previous round of Borna Coric.

Carlos Alcaraz will play a match for third place against Casper Ruud, beaten by Stefanos Tsitsipas who will face Andrey Rublev in the final.

A little less than a month from the start of the Australian Open (January 16 to 29), the young Spaniard still has some time to gain momentum.
