Berlin. Alba Berlin has continued its negative run in the Euroleague. The German basketball champion lost to Italian runner-up Virtus Segafredo Bologna 76-85 (29-40).

After the tenth defeat in a row in the premier class, Alba remains second to bottom in the table. The best Berlin throwers were Luke Sikma with 16 and Jaleen Smith with 14 points.

Coach Israel Gonzalez had to do without center Yanni Wetzell because of a flu infection, but Christ Koumadje was there again. At the beginning, both teams could see why there had been a few defeats recently – because Bologna also conceded four Euroleague bankruptcies in a row. Open throws were awarded in rows on both sides. Especially with the distance throws, here Alba only hit one in ten attempts in the first half.

Bologna got a little easier as the game progressed, so that the guests always ran behind a deficit. Because the Berlin final weakness remained. After the change of sides, they were then better offensively: Alba made more speed and now used his chances more consistently. However, Bologna always had an answer ready and was able to keep the guests at a distance. Alba struggled, closing in on six points in the last quarter. But in the end they missed too many chances again and it was the Italians who took the win.
