76ers recover in overtime and defeat Lakers

Joel Embiid had 38 points and 12 rebounds, De’Anthony Melton had a career-high 33 points coming off the bench and the Philadelphia 76ers rallied after blowing a nine-point lead in the final 30 seconds of regulation. to defeat the Los Angeles Lakers 133-122 in overtime on Friday night.

Anthony Davis finished with 31 points and 12 rebounds, while LeBron James chipped in 23 points for the Lakers. James (left ankle) and Davis (illness) both sat out in the loss in Toronto on Tuesday.

Russell Westbrook had 12 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists, joining Magic Johnson as the only Lakers players with a statistical triple-double coming off the bench.

He made the first two free throws and missed the third. Davis then was fouled by Tobais Harris with 3.7 seconds left. Davis missed one of two to tie it at 120 and send the game into overtime.
