While the Czechs had not traveled to Mado-Bonnet for cases of Covid-19 in the Eurocup, FIBA decided in favor of a package against the opponents of ASVEL women.
The meeting of the 3rd day of Eurocup between ASVEL women and Zabiny Brno, scheduled for Thursday, November 10 in Mado-Bonnet, never took place due to cases of Covid-19 in the Czech clan. In committee, FIBA decided in favor of a withdrawal from the Czech club, whose hopes of qualifying for the second round of the competition are already gone (0-4).
“Having taken into account the relevant circumstances and in accordance with the rules, the single judge decided to forfeit Zabiny Brno. The match was awarded to their opponents ASVEL Women with a score of 20-0”FIBA said in a statement.
Thus, ASVEL is now in 2nd place with a record of 3 wins and 1 loss, just behind Lattes-Montpellier, undefeated leader of Pool K.
