Women’s basketball: Ewodo and the TGB offer themselves the first battle of the North

the essential
At the end of a dream second half in the wake of a magnificent Yohana Ewodo, the Tarbaises leave from the North (and from Saint-Amand) with the smile of victory and the work accomplished: 93 to 89. Nice Saturday evening.

And yet, Tarbes did not take the expected start and was already forced to chase after the score against the Amandinoises who hit the mark in their first three attacks: 7-0 (2nd). It was Isabelle Yacoubou who stopped this bleeding: 7-4 (3rd). From there, the meeting was balanced with the two teams going basket for basket: 12-11 (5th), 19-17 (7th).

In short, the match started on a very offensive basis, which did not displease the many spectators (more than 1,600): 26-20 (10th). Saint-Amand continued his slight domination while Yacoubou suffered his second fault (34-24, 13th). The Pyrenees were going to have to react fairly quickly or face major annoyances. Foppossi, Yacoubou and Ewodo took the game well on their own, but opposite Slonjsak had a warm hand and managed almost everything she undertook (14 pts already): 41-33 (17th), 48-36 at rest.

Yohana Ewodo joins the bigourdan collective

Yacoubou’s teammates were going to have to show something else in the game and in the fight and not rely on two or three pawns, but together collectively.

From the start, Ewodo showed his advantage again, the gap narrowed and hope returned to the Tarbes ranks: 48-41 (22nd), and a perfect equality: 49-49 (23rd). Everything had to be done and for the first time the TGB passed: 49-52 (24th), 57-64 (27th). There was still a lot of time but the most difficult seemed done: 66-70 (30th). Finally almost because St Amand went back in front: 72-70 (32nd). Not long: 74-78 (34th). What a game ; what suspense: 79-78 (35th).

The end of the match was going to be Tarbaise, and François Gomez’s troops won 89-93.
