Venues announced for six F1 sprint races in 2023 | Motorsport

After two years with three of those short races on Saturday, the number will be doubled in 2023. The result of the sprint determines the starting grid for the Grand Prix on Sunday. World Cup points can also be earned: 8 for the winner.

The first sprint race will be held in Baku next season, during the fifth Grand Prix weekend of the year. Later there will also be sprints in Austria, Belgium, Qatar, Austin and Brazil. Towards the end of the season, the sprints follow each other in rapid succession. Qatar and Austin are Grand Prix numbers 19 and 20 of the season, Brazil is race 22. After that there are races in Las Vegas and Abu Dhabi, which will be completed according to the traditional format.
