“This star wants to come to the Lakers, but they’re not going to sign her”

Long desperate in the trade market, the Lakers recently saw a big name in the league throw a huge foot call at them. However, according to a famous analyst, Rob Pelinka and his assistants should completely snub him!

By playing the card of patience following their disastrous start to the season, they were not spared from criticism. And yet, following the two consecutive victories in recent days, they could finally have made the right choice. The leaders of the Lakers have indeed something to be satisfied with the fresh success of their team, and can now be more demanding on the transfer market.

The candidacy of Myles Turner refused by the Lakers?!

If they wouldn’t have passed up the opportunity to trade Russell Westbrook a few weeks ago, the Angelinos could now be satisfied with their star point guard, performing as a luxury substitute. A definite blow for Myles Turner, who clearly said he was in favor of an arrival in Los Angeles lately. For Shannon Sharpe, this outstretched hand should not be followed by an exchange:

Myles Turner clearly doesn’t want to play Indy anymore, given that they don’t want to give him the contract he’s been looking for. He wants to come to the Lakers, but they have had the whole offseason to recruit him. So I don’t think they’re going to, especially now that they’ve offered Russ a new role, and he seems to be enjoying it. I think they want to see Russ in that role for 15 or 20 games, and see if they can build on that.

In addition to Brodie’s success off the bench, the Purple & Gold have reason to be wary of Turner’s profile. Because despite his indisputable qualities as a blocker, even an outside shooter, the 26-year-old pivot remains surrounded by significant doubts about his physical fragility, as Sharpe points out:

He’s missed 65 games between 2020 and 2022, and he’s only played three games this season. And the last thing the Lakers need is another oft-injured interior. We tackle AD every time he holds his back after a jump, and we keep saying that at 28 he moves like someone 58. So I have a hard time imagining the Lakers bringing in Turner because of that.

If LeBron James and his teammates continue their momentum, with a Westbrook which maintains its great form, it seems unlikely that the big man of the Pacers will arrive in the City of Angels!

Even having publicly given his approval for an arrival at the Lakers, Myles Turner risks being rejected. It is in any case the point of view defended by Shannon Sharpe, provided that Russell Westbrook continues his rebirth!
