The Villa San Martín maxibasket became champion in an international tournament

With a great display, the tournament had 142 participating casts from all over the countryboth in the female and male branch. The competitions began on Thursday, November 8, on courts in the capital of Entre Ríos and at the headquarters of the Atlético María Grande club, in the town that bears this name.

The structure of the international tournament was divided into several categories, from Maxi +30 to Maxi +60.

“Our idea was to participate in Maxi +40, but there were no quotas, so we entered Maxi +35, giving age advantages because we were all over 35 years old and we even had two +50 players,” one of the members of the champion tricolor team, Hugo Camisasca.

“The organization has been organizing this tournament for many years, which is very well oiled and is played simultaneously in more than 10 courts in the city“, he recounted.

In the Maxi +35 category, in which the Chaqueños participated, there were three zones (two of them with four teams and another with three teams). “We qualified first and undefeated in our area and we played the semifinal against Río Tercero Básquet, from Córdoba, and the final against AFP Saurus from Río Negro”, reviewed the also coach and coordinator of the tricolor club’s training.

It is, as Camisasca recalled, a tournament in which Villa San Martín usually participates and has even been champion in other editions.

“We always try to travel and participate in the tournament. We are competitive and we like to be part of it. The most important thing is to share these kinds of moments among friends. In fact, in all the games, we all had minutes”, highlighted.

The international champion tricolor team was made up of Oscar Pilotti, Pablo Calcagno, Marcelo Perez, Diego Machin, Alexander Schenone, Fabian Barraza, Facundo Toledo, Pedro Machin, Hugo Camisasca and Claudio Mena.
