The coach of FC Versailles, National football club, Youssef Chibhi, 41, was laid off on Monday by his management, a decision justified by reasons “non-sporting“, said the club to AFP. “FC Versailles coach Youssef Chibhi has been suspended as a precaution. From this Monday, Vincent Ehouman (assistant coach, editor’s note) and all the current staff take charge of the team for the receptionfrom Saint-Brieuc on November 11, the club announced in a press release. Asked by AFP, the club did not wish to elaborate on the reasons for this decision by “compliance with procedurein progress but confirmed that it was “non-sporting reasons“. Versailles 78 currently occupies 2nd place in the National ranking, the equivalent of the 3rd division, after 11 days. Under the direction of Youssef Chibhi, the club, then in the fourth division (N2), had achieved the feat of reaching the semi-finals of the Coupe de France 2021-2022, eliminated in March by OGC Nice ( 2-0). Mr Chibhi had been the coach of Versailles since 2014.
