Teddy Riner, Romane Dicko and Clarisse Agbégnénou return to the Champions League

The European Club Championship, played this Saturday in Gori, Georgia, will mark the return to competition of the French Teddy Riner, Romane Dicko and Clarisse Agbégnénou. Injured in the right ankle on August 24, which forced him to withdraw from the October Worlds in Uzbekistan, Riner has not fought in competition since his victory at the Budapest Grand Slam on July 10 (+100 kg).

Her PSG judo teammate Romane Dicko was in Tashkent, from where she brought back a world title in +78 kg, before taking a vacation. Their respective categories not being disputed in the team events, Riner will fight in +90 kg and Dicko in +70 kg. Same principle for Clarisse Agbégnénou aligned in -70 kg and not in -63 kg, the category where she was crowned Olympic champion in Tokyo in the summer of 2021.

Buchard forfeit

After the Games, the five-time world champion took a maternity break and gave birth to a daughter, Athena, in June. Today, she therefore resumes with her Red Star club of Champigny-sur-Marne, vice-champion of Europe last year. World bronze medalist (-52 kg) last month, Amandine Buchard (PSG) was forced to forfeit: she suffered in particular from a total fracture of a vertebra (L5 left side) which should keep her away from the tatami mats of competition for an indefinite period.
