“The worst news I’ve ever had to put up with reached me yesterday when my mother told me about the death of my grandfather,” Williams explained on Instagram after the game. “He has been with me all over the world to watch me play football since I started playing at Liverpool when I was 6 years old. He never told me if I played a good game because he always said I had to get better and better every day. That’s why I’m where I am now!”
