Come and see how the stadium turned out after yesterday’s game, the damage is starting to add up

Yesterday’s football match between FC Viktoria Plzeň and AC Sparta Prague will probably have a similar outcome as the recent match with Slavia. Once again, there were extensive cases of vandalism in the stadium premises and attempts to start fires in the guest sector.

According to information directly from the stadium, before the end of the first half, Sparta fans first tried to set fire to the seats using toilet paper and towels from the toilets, prevented the firemen from extinguishing the fire, and threw not only cups of beer or urine, but also torn seats at them.

After the failure of this action, the vandals then focused on the toilet area, which they literally demolished, for example, they tore out the radiators and started a fire again.

Vandalism at the stadium is of course handled by the police. “After the football match, the police arrested a person suspected of an illegal act related to the damage to the stadium’s equipment. They also arrested two people who committed an illegal act against public order, and coercive measures were used against them. No one was injured during the operation.” the police spokeswoman said, adding that the police are continuing to deal with individual cases, evaluating camera footage and searching for the perpetrators.

Even before the football match itself, the police arrested two persons who had committed offenses against public order and civil coexistence. “Since the two men did not obey the calls of the police officers, coercive means were used and then both were placed at the anti-alcohol detention station. The police officers found 1.5 and 2.5 per million of alcohol in their breath through breath tests,” specified the press spokesperson of the police.
