According to what he told the media, the candidate for the title of athlete par excellence of the last campaign in the American League of baseball will start the 2023 calendar in Anaheim. The Californian organization received some offers from rival teams at the most recent trade deadline, but preferred to keep the Japanese under its auspices despite the low probability of qualifying for the playoffs. The Angels have also concluded their journey with a record of 73-89.

“He is such a special player. We won’t trade him, Ohtani won’t move from here, Minasian said, as reported by MLB.com. He will be there and will help us at the start. I know there have been rumors and stuff like that, but he will be there. He is part of the club and we love the athlete. I think our goal is to bet on him for a long time.

Ohtani wowed the gallery as much with his arm as with the stick. On offense, he totaled 34 homers and 95 RBIs, while on the mound he went 15-9 and had a 2.33 ERA. At the end of the next season, he could become a free agent; he will receive $30 million for the upcoming campaign, having avoided salary arbitration this year.
