Real Madrid – Toni Kroos reveals: This coach was the best for me – SOCCER CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Interesting statement from our 2014 World Champion…

Toni Kroos (32) has been with Real Madrid for more than eight years and has been an integral part of the Royal midfield ensemble ever since.

In the last group game of the Champions League against Celtic Glasgow, his club was able to take it easy. Real was already qualified. In the end there was a 5:1 victory.

But as you know the world champion, he also showed his ability against Glasgow – even if it was no longer about anything. It’s probably also because Kroos was ground by a number of great coaches, for whom success is paramount.

In his career, Kroos has played under the following greats: Jupp Heynckes (77/FC Bayern), Louis van Gaal (71/FC Bayern), Zinédine Zidane (50/Real Madrid), ex-Spanish national coach Julen Lopetegui (56/Real Madrid ) and Santiago Solari (42/Real Madrid).

He was particularly taken with Pep Guardiola (51), with whom Kroos worked at Bayern in the 2013/14 season. The world champion is now revealing this in the program “Universo Valdano”.

Kroos says of Guardiola: “If I have to choose a coach who is perfect for my game, it is Guardiola. I really enjoyed the year with him, it improved me a lot.”

In the last year of his time with the German record champions, he played 51 games under the Spanish star coach.

After the 2014 World Cup, he moved to Real Madrid for €25m. And that, although Kroos explains: “Guardiola fought until the last day so that I could stay with Bayern.”

The reason for his departure was not the coach, but the lack of appreciation of the Bayern boss. After he could not agree on a contract extension with the German record champions, Kroos made the turn.

Kroos is also doing quite well under coach Carlo Ancelotti this season. The former international made 16 appearances. He recently announced that he wanted to end his career in Madrid.

The only question is when: His current contract runs until the summer of 2023. The decision should be made by next spring at the latest as to whether Kroos will continue to play in the Royal jersey or give up his career to spend time with the family.

The future will tell. In any case, Pep Guardiola will certainly be happy about the Kroos statement!
