Mike Sullivan, the head coach of the National Hockey League (NHL) club Pittsburgh “Penguins”, evaluated the game of the Latvian Teodoras Blüger after the match against the Minnesota “Wild”. This was the Latvian forward’s second game of the season, as he was previously nursing an upper body injury.

It has already been announced that Blügers and “Penguins” beat the “Wild” hockey players with a score of 6:4, causing their opponents the third loss in a row. In this match, Blügers spent 11 minutes and 38 seconds on the ice, during which he stood out with one assist, two shots on goal, one power play, with 50% of shots won, as well as a neutral efficiency coefficient of 0. The Latvian forward effectively assisted the “Penguins” in the second in the goal when Ryan Pelling was accurate.

“It’s only now that you realize how much we missed Blüger when he wasn’t in the lineup,” Sullivan admitted. “He is a conscientious player who is great in tackles, in the small and an important part of our defense. It is difficult to play against him because he also has a good offensive game. He is really an important hockey player for us. We always put him in tough situations and he does whatever it takes.

Also, Blūgers himself evaluated his and the team’s performance. “We played well and scored goals,” said Blüger. “Our substitution scored after a great play when I passed to Pelling who made a great shot. I think we played most of the match at a solid level. The best thing was that on him goals we were able to answer.”
