National basketball player Dennis Schröder sees no advantage in the Los Angeles Lakers’ poor start to the season before his expected comeback.

After injuring a ligament in his thumb, Germany’s captain is expected to appear for the first time this NBA season in the game against the Detroit Pistons on Saturday night for the record champions, who have lost 10 of 13 games so far. “I want my team to win every time, whether I play or not. Of course it hasn’t been good. I’m coming in now and trying to turn that around and play well. But if they had played well from the start and they’re standing by now 7: 3 wins, then of course I would have been happy too,” Schröder told the German Press Agency.

After his almost four week injury break, he feels good. “In the end I needed the break anyway because of the Eurobasket and I was sick before I came to LA,” he said. He would have liked to have played on November 13, but after deliberations he decided to have the extra days in training. “Of course I feel better now than four days ago, we took our time and we’ll be ready tomorrow.”
