Pachuca’s first council in Oviedo: these are the six names that will make it up

The shareholders’ meeting to be held tomorrow will mean a new starting point in the management body of Oviedo. Pachuca will put its emphasis on the board of directors with the appointment of three trustworthy directors who will compensate for the departure of Menéndez Vallina announced yesterday. José Ramón Fernández, Corporate Vice President of Media; Gerardo Cabrera, head of finance, and Pedro Cedillo, partner of the group, will become part of the club’s governing body, although they will be halfway between Mexico and Spain.

Thus, the board of directors will be made up of six people, headed by Martín Peláez, president, who will also receive a salary for his work at the club as soon as it is approved by the board. Along with him, Fernando Corral and Manolo Paredes, survivors of the Carso stage, remain. The second, in addition, will also receive remuneration in exchange for the advice on legal matters that he offers the club. The three new Mexican members will take office at the Ordinary and Extraordinary General Meeting, which will be held tomorrow at the “Ciudad de Oviedo” Palace of Exhibitions and Congresses at 5:00 p.m.

Fernández and Cabrera have been linked to Oviedo since the arrival of Pachuca last summer, although from now on they will do so in a position of greater responsibility. The two Mexicans arrived in Asturias last week and attended the clash against Gimnástica de Torrelavega on Sunday on El Malecón. On his part, Pedro Cedillo also knows Oviedo, when he accompanied Jesús Martín during his stay last summer. All three have extensive experience and have the endorsement of Jesús Martínez.

The council will have six members with the Mexicans Cabrera, Fernández and Cedillo

In the items on the meeting’s agenda, in addition to the usual ones (approval of the accounts, income and expenses and corporate management), the “modification of the administrative body” is included, a necessary procedure to increase the number of directors with respect to the 3 that is currently established in the bylaws, and the “fixing of the maximum amount of the annual remuneration of the group of directors”, a measure that will not be applied to all members.

The departure of Jorge Menéndez Vallina was not in the initial plans but it is considered a slight alteration of course, something that should not condition the roadmap. The Pachuca group, which entered Oviedo with the initial intention of not causing major changes but which has been introducing them over the months, will form its first board of directors with its seal at tomorrow’s shareholders’ meeting.

Since his arrival last summer, he has left profound changes in the organization chart over the months. Federico González, David Mata, Tito and Bolo have been the main names that have left the club.
