Ndour returns for the second window of the Eurobasket

14 players have been summoned by the coach Miguel Méndez to start the road to the Women’s Eurobasket 2023 from Israel and Slovenia. Spain will play two parties, both at the Carolina Marín de Huelva Sports Palace; against Iceland (Thursday 24, at 8:30 p.m.) and Hungary (Sunday 27, at 5:00 p.m.).

The big new thing on the list is the return of Astou Ndour to an official call almost a year later. The pivot, however, was already in the friendly matches that took place this summer. On the other hand, the great absence of the call is that of the Captain Silvia Dominguezthat he did not end up being one hundred percent for the coach.

complete the list Maite Cazorla (Avenida Perfumeries), Cristina Ouviña (Valencia BC), Leticia Romero (Valencia BC), Laura Peña (Cadí la Seu), Leo Rodríguez (Avenida Perfumeries), Queralt Casas (Valencia BC), María Conde (USK Prague), Laura Quevedo (Asvel Femenin), Alba Torrens (Valencia BC), Irati Etxarri (Spar Girona), María Aráujo (Spar Girona), Paula Ginzo (Durán M. Ensino) and Raquel Carrera (Valencia BC).

Spain won both games in the first window against Hungary and Romania, so two other victories would ensure his passport for EuroBasket 2023. In February the third window is played with games against Romania and Iceland, both as visitors. The first teams of the ten groups and the four best second teams are classified.

Miguel Mendez: “A new adventure in which we hope to close the qualification for Eurobasket 2023”. Méndez, has highlighted the importance of the two games “especially the second against the Hungarian National Team, where we hope to close the qualification for the European 2023”. He has also encouraged all the fans to “be part of this new adventure with us in which we seek to be protagonists in the next Eurbasket”.
