Nainggolan-Antwerp, it’s over: fired by the club

The story between Radja Nainggolan and Antwerp ends here: the former Cagliari, Roma and Inter midfielder will not be reinstated in the Belgian club’s staff. The player had been suspended after being caught smoking on the bench, and before this episode he had also become the protagonist of another news story that had damaged the relationship with the club. Radja had in fact been arrested because he was found driving a vehicle with an expired license. Now, in conjunction with the stop of the championship for the World Cup in Qatar, the Belgian management has met the player and communicated the decision.

There is no longer a place for him in the first team squad, even though a brief official note released by the club also states “that the club will collaborate for a possible transfer”. Nainggolan had played his last official match in mid-October and will now have to look for a new accommodation when the transfer market reopens. Even if, thanks to certain behaviors of him, it will not be easy to convince a new company to trust him.
