Su Motorsport-Total.com an interesting interview with was reported Jack Miller in which the pilot tells the period in red and the relationship with Pecco Bagnaiaof which he was a teammate for 4 years.

That the relationship between the two was awesome it is confirmed by several parties but, first of all, by the pilots themselves. The Italian repeatedly told the press that he would have preferred to continue to have Miller as a companion. Once, after a win, caught on a camera of Sky sport in the Ducati garage, Pecco was heard saying to Tardozzi: “We’ll miss this bastard here”, referring to his friend Miller, while the celebrations were underway.

The period in Ducati of the Jack-Pecco cup is divided into two parts: 2019 and 2020 in Pramac, 2021 and 2022 in official Ducati.

In Pramac, Miller is better

NDuring his time in the satellite team Miller obtained 9 podiums (six second and three third places) while Bagnaia, two years his junior, obtained only one.

Overtaking Pecco in official Ducati

Dfrom 2021 to now Pecco Bagnaia has achieved 11 wins against Miller’s 3, a second and a first place in the championship against the Australian’s fourth and fifth.

Miller’s words

PWhy was Bagnaia so much more successful and what makes him better than you?

“If I knew it, I would too. I prepare well physically and mentally for the races. He rides the bike better than me. It’s simple. I’m doing my best but this year he was better. And last year too “

Are you surprised by the improvement Pecco has made?

“Definitely. He’d had some good signs at Pramac but he’s made enormous progress in the last two years, also taking many victories”

On the relationship with Ducati…

“It was a good moment for me and a turning point in my career. Before moving to Ducati, I scored a podium, a victory in the rain (with Honda in Assen in 2016, ed). Now I have more than 20 podiums “

After three years in Honda Miller moved to Ducati in 2017…

“It has been an incredible journey. I learned a lot because I rode with so many different bike setups. Now I know this aspect very well”

Why are you leaving?

“I want to try something new. In the end, it was my decision. I’m very happy with how the second half of the season went. I hope I can bring this momentum to the new bike”

On the old and the new teammate…

“Pecco and I have a friendly relationship, but it’s always strange to have a European teammate because the culture is very different. South Africans (ie Brad Binder) have a very similar culture. They have a similar sense of humor to Aussies. In some ways Brad is my opposite, but once you get to know him better, he’s more like me than you think. I think we will make a great collaboration”

The two are also neighbors…

“He lives just six hundred meters from me in Andorra and we spend a lot of time together. We drank a few beers and talked. He is my good friend. I think we will have a good working relationship”
