Miryang City to solidify its image as ‘Badminton Mecca’… Opening of the Junior Championships on the 21st

The ‘2022 Miryang Wonwon Yonex Korea Junior Open International Badminton Championships’ will be held from the 21st to the 27th at the Badminton Stadium in Miryang, the mecca of badminton.

According to Miryang City on the 17th, this tournament is the best badminton tournament in Korea approved by the World Badminton Federation (BWF).

About 950 badminton prospects from 12 countries, including Korea, Thailand, Japan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, and Singapore, from 11 to 19 years old, gather to compete for seven days.

In particular, due to the aftermath of Corona 19, the heat is expected to be even hotter in that it will be held again after 3 years since 2019. The competition will be held in men’s and women’s singles, doubles, and mixed doubles by age group (under 19, under 17, under 15, under 13).

Mayor Park Il-ho said, “I am very proud to be able to hold an international competition for young players who will lead the future of badminton in Miryang.” .

Meanwhile, Miryang City expects that this international badminton competition will further solidify the image of ‘Badminton Mecca City Miryang’ and actively contribute to local promotion and revitalization of the local economy.
