The Mexicans showed their power against none other than Colombia, another of the powers, which not even with Sara López, number two in the world ranking, could face the tricolors.

It was not because the coffee plants failed, but that the Mexicans were more precise to take the victory in shoot off. Despite the fact that the score ended tied 230-230, the last Mexican arrow was an x, which ensured the victory. Third place went to the United States.

A little later, Mexico once again took a bath of gold in Chilean lands, now in the recurve bow modality. The North Americans reacted well and equalized the actions in the fourth, however, the experience of the tricolors was decisive in the fifth and decisive set, as they did not leave the yellow zone of the target. Canada completed the podium.

Finally, the men’s recurve team also conquered the top of the podium, with a great performance by Matías Grande, Ángel Alvarado and Emilio Treviño. LThe Mexicans did not give the Colombian team the option to take the victory with a resounding 6-2. The tricolor third took the first two sets. The medal crop could grow this Sunday, when the last finals of the Pan American Championship take place. Mariana Bernal and Miguel Becerra will seek gold against Colombia in the mixed team final, while Miguel Becerra will face the American Nick Kappers in the individual final; Uriel Olvera will do the same in the duel for third place against the American Sawyer Sullivan.

In the recurve mode they can also fall more medals, when Alejandra Valencia, together with Matías Grande, face the United States couple in the mixed final, while Ana Paula Vázquez will also seek gold against the Brazilian Ane Marcelle Dos Santos. The duel, in some way, represents a revenge for the Mexican, since the South American eliminated her in the past Olympic Games. Matías Grande, finally, will fight for the bronze against the Colombian Jorge Enríquez.
