Le blog de la rédac’ > A “Grand Slam” for Djokovic?

We are wrapping up our issue 83 and in this issue we have decided to use a “crystal bullet” with 5 visions for 2023, here is the first…

The Serb is “hungry”. Hunger for titles, hunger for night sessions, hunger for Homeric battles. Deprived of kangaroos and burgers, Novak confirmed at the end of the year that he was still at his peak physically, mentally and tactically. If Carlos Alcaraz did not steal his place as number one, it must be recognized that the circumstances helped him a lot. The fact remains that this year 2022 has been the worst, but also the “best” for the Serb. The worst, because he was once treated like a criminal; the best, because he knows he can take all the hard knocks, more than any athlete in the world. So, we can be sure that deep down, he thinks that a real “Grand Slam” is possible. It would be a crowning achievement, an apotheosis. It will all start in Melbourne, where the trophy will have to be lifted for the tenth time. This may not be his biggest challenge as he is comfortable at the antipodes. The “tipping point” of this incredible odyssey will necessarily be at Roland‐Garros, where he is struggling, where Nadal reigns supreme. If he gets to Wimbledon halfway there, then it will be really, really hard to stop him.
