Kokkinakis And Kyrgios Qualify For The Nitto ATP Finals | ATP Tours

Thanasi Kokkinakis and Nick Kyrgios have qualified for the Nitto ATP Finals, to be played in Turin from November 13-20.

The Australians are guaranteed a place under the Grand Slam champions provision, a rule that determines the following: If there is a Grand Slam-winning team from the current year ranked between eighth and twentieth in the Pepperstone ATP Doubles Team Rankings after the Rolex Paris Masters, that team qualifies for Turin.

With Kokkinakis and Kyrgios assured of being in the Top 20, and Wimbledon champions Matthew Ebden and Max Purcell unable to catch up, they will compete at the year-end championships, joining Wesley Koolhof/Neal Skupski, Rajeev Ram/Joe Salisbury, Marcelo Arévalo/Jean -Julien Rojer and Nikola Mektic/Mate Pavic.

Kokkinakis and Kyrgios caused a sensation at the start of the season when they embarked on a dream run to the Australian Open title. The local favorites quickly rallied the Melbourne crowd to their side, defeating a line-up of veteran top teams including Mektic and Pavic, before lifting the trophy with a victory against Ebden and Purcell.

The duo played seven tournaments this year, going 18-5. The Aussies also lifted the trophy in Atlanta and reached the semi-finals in Miami and Tokyo.

There are three places left for the end of season tournament, with Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos in fifth place and currently in the qualifying line.
