Jon Rahm and Justin Thomas join the new Team Golf League

The organizers of the new Team Golf League (TGL), created in collaboration with the PGA Tour and which will begin to be played in 2024, have announced this Monday their incorporation into the Spanish initiative Jon Rahm and the american Justin Thomas.

The TGL is an innovative golf league, in collaboration with the PGA Tour, that fuses advanced technology and live action in prime time.

It will be launched from January 2024 with six teams, each made up of three PGA Tour players. The American Tiger Woods and the northern irish Rory McIlroy they were the first two golfers to commit to compete. This Monday Jon Rahm and Justin Thomas did it.

“I’m excited to join Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas in the TGL. As soon as I heard about the league I signed up. It will be great to be a part of something that combines my interest in technology with the opportunity to introduce golf to a broader global audience.“, writes Rahm himself on social networks.

Thomas also said on the networks that he is “delighted to be part of this special group that brings golf to a wider audience.”

The TGL combines a virtual field with a state-of-the-art short game complex and “offers a high-energy, high-tech experience for fans, who will sit greenside,” its organizers report.

The TGL’s inaugural season will kick off in January 2024 with a 15-game regular season, followed by the playoffs and the championship final.
