Jalisco receives the International Mexican Badminton Open

After the participation of the Mexican team in the Peru Challenge tournament, the next stop for the tricolor team will be at home, as Jalisco receives the XIII International Mexican Badminton Open, which will take place from November 22 to 26 at the Arena Astros in the capital Guadalajara, which receives 174 athletes.

The best exponents of our country, led by the Olympians Lino Muñoz Manduiano and Haramara Gaitán Fausto, together with Job Castillo Galindo, Luis Montoya Navarro, Armando Gaitán Fausto, Vanessa García Contreras, Miriam Rodríguez Pérez, among others, will be measured against the representatives of 28 countries, in the event that guides the final stretch of the Pan-American calendar of the discipline.

The opening ceremony, which took place this Monday, was attended by Francisco Javier Orozco, president of the Mexican Badminton Federation; Luis Fernando Ortega Ramos, director of the Jalisco Code and Juan Carlos Flores Miramontes, State Secretary of Education.

“After several years, the Mexican Open returns to Jalisco. We are sure that this event will be a great success, since the best rackets will come from Mexico, we will have the current Olympians, as well as Job Castillo and Luis Montoya from Jalisco”, mentioned Orozco.

“Very grateful and happy to have this type of competition in our state. We are committed to the sport and this great tournament is to prove it. We wish the greatest success to the future stars of this sport”, said the Secretary of Education.

The Arena Astros houses three courts to enjoy the best international badminton exponents. This tournament culminates next Saturday, November 26, and in turn, the first Ibero-American Tournament of the specialty will begin on the 25th.
