International – Darts: Schindler qualified for Grand Slam

Cologne (SID) – Darts professional Martin Schindler (26) has qualified for the Grand Slam in Wolverhampton/England. The Strausberger secured one of eight tickets for the tournament from November 12th to 20th in the Barnsley Metrodome on Sunday.

In the decisive round of the last 16, Schindler beat Belgian Mike De Decker 5:4. In contrast, Gabriel Clemens (Saarwellingen) failed with a 3:5 on Englishman Luke Woodhouse.

In addition to Schindler, five-time world champion Raymond van Barneveld (Netherlands) also secured his Grand Slam starting place. The Austrian Mensur Suljovic also came through in the qualification.
