It was presented today at the headquarters of General Bank of piazza Giovine Italia 6 in Varese, the 24th edition of the prize “Green Years”an initiative promoted by Panthlon Club of Varese and supported by Banca Generali Varese.
For almost a quarter of a century, on the idea of the late partner Ivanoe BellettiPanathlon demonstrates what it really means to believe in young people and in the future they represent, for local and national sport but also for the entire civil society, betting on their abilities and their desire to be protagonists of tomorrow, as athletes and as human beings.
However, the attention of the association is not a simple “blank bill”: Panathlon has always sought and rewarded only those young people who have demonstrated over the years that they know how to combine a passion for sport and its ideals with the utmost commitment and good results in school activities. Who said you have to choose? School and sport are both indispensable teachers of life and there are many stories that tell the possibility of success in both fields.
The roll of honor of the “Anni Verdi” award is concrete proof of this: scrolling through the names of past winners, faces and successes emerge that have made our city and our province proud. Just a few examples: Naomi Cantelecycling champion as well as the colleague Ivan Santaromita. And then the rowers Elijah Luini e Pier Paolo Frattini and swimmers Federico Morlacchi, Simone Barlaam e Nicolò Martinenghi.
Illustrious predecessors of who will be awarded in this 2022. It’s about Carola Belli (athletics, Campo dei Fiori Institute of Gavirate and now Manfredini Artistic High School, Gavirate Athletics card), James Bersotti (golf, Campo dei Fiori middle school in Comerio, Varese Golf Club member), Alessandra Trusiani (ice skating, Dante Alighieri middle school in Varese, Icesport Varese member), Edward Bogni (sailing, Sereni high school in Luino, Avav Luino member), Giorgia Bergamin judo, Ferraris scientific high school of Varese, member of the Robur et Fides Judo School of Varese), Elisa Scuttari (rowing, Frattini artistic high school in Varese, Canottieri Gavirate member), Francesca Bellorini (rowing, scientific high school Stein of Gavirate, registered Canottieri Gavirate), Aurora Rada Sartorio (artistic gymnastics, Cairoli classical high school in Varese, Varese Gymnastics card) e Adlin Cika (Paralympic swimming, Polha Varese member). Special mention also for Varvara Garashchenko (swimming and horse riding, Dante Alighieri Varese middle school).
These are athletes who have already become Italian champions or have reached the podium in the same events and/or winners of individual or team national youth events. And, more importantly, they all boast a grade point average above 7.5.
The selection procedure took place in full respect of tradition, which also this year saw the collaboration of theTerritorial School Office of Varese, local sports clubs and schools. Twenty selected names, become ten after the evaluation of technical commission format da three partners of the Panathlon Club Varese.
And if the evening to mark on the calendar will be that of Wednesday 23 November, when the Varese Golf Club (Luvinate, via Vittorio Veneto 32) will host at 19.30 the convivial that will see the awarding of the chosen ones (guest of honor the Olympic champion Federica Cesarini), today morning was worth witnessing the closeness of the institutions to the prize and to the work of Panathlon of Varese.
In fact, the senator from Varese took part in the presentation press conference Matteo Bianchi and the regional councilor Samuel Smart. Representing Panathlon President Felice Paronelli, while doing the honors were the district manager of Banca Generali Private Guido Stancanelli and the private banker Giuliano Parini.
