The Doryoku Judo Club has participated, in its last competitions, in Junior and Senior categories. There are many and very varied tournaments that take place on these dates and, in the last championships, the charro team has had different results and in general very positive.
The Doryoku Club held a great Senior Regional Championship in Valladolid, turning out to be the best team at the club level with three golds, three silvers and two bronzes. The gold medals were achieved by Pepe Ramos, Beatriz Alba and Elena Casado. The first two faced teammates from the club in the final: Martín Rodríguez and Lucía Álvarez. The other silver medal went to Cristina Rodríguez. In addition, Álvaro Montes and José Carlos took the bronze medals.
This balance has enabled several judokas from the club to qualify for the Senior Sector phase. The Castilian and León Judo Federation has summoned the following athletes: Beatriz Alba, Cristina Rodríguez, Lucía Álvarez and Martín Rodríguez. On the other hand, Pepe Ramos and Elena Casado have declined the call, since they would currently have to fight in a category above. The championship will be held in A Coruña this Sunday.
On the other hand, the charro club will also have Charlie Antón competing. After a tough season fighting to qualify for the Spanish Cup Ranking, he was placed in a creditable fourth position (only 3 are classified through the National Ranking). The last regional race in Galicia did not go as we would have liked, but his performance throughout the year will allow him to fight in the sector phase in less than 60 kilos.
On the other hand, the juniors were fighting in Gijón. Up to 300 Junior category judokas gathered in this championship with a great organization by the Asturian Judo Federation and an incredible level in all weights. On this occasion, the positive note is that with ten judokas we played a total of 25 fights (11 wins for 14 losses). It was not far from the medals, in fact Martín Rodríguez and Beatriz Alba were only one fight away from the fight for the box.
