Ligue 2: Angers in L1, St-Etienne misses, Rodez and the PFC in the play-offs

The L2 season ended this Friday with a final day full of emotions. She notably saw Saint-Etienne lose on the QRM pitch (1-2). The Greens, who took only two points in the last three matches, suffered in Rouen. Their physical state raises questions, a few days before a roadblock…

After finding the post, Soumano opened the scoring for the locals, from close range, beating Green, the replacement for Larsonneur (injured). Camara then crossed for Coulibaly, who doubled the lead. Despite numerous opportunities, including two in quick succession (78th, 79th), ASSE was only able to find the net on a late penalty from Cissokho. Third, Saint-Etienne did not return to Angers, despite SCO’s draw against Dunkirk (0-0). The Angevins dominated and should have won a penalty for a foul by Fernandez, but they were never able to score. Nothing to jeopardize their rise.

Rodez will receive the PFC in the play-offs

Rodez, the surprise of the season, finished 4th and will therefore host Paris FC (5th) in the play-offs. The Ruthenois beat Ajaccio (2-0), scoring their two goals in the first six minutes of the match. Hountondji notably scored his 14th achievement of the season. The Ile-de-France residents were held in check in Bastia (1-1). Preferred over Chergui, Kolodziejczak opened the scoring for the PFC with a lofted header. The Corsicans equalized through Alfarela, on a non-existent penalty obtained by Ducrocq. Deprived of Kebbal (injured) during the match, Paris can be happy to have taken a point: at the end of the match, the locals missed two huge chances, notably coming up against Nkambadio.

Troyes officially relegated

Despite a match whose result has not yet been confirmed, Troyes is relegated to the National. Estac was held in check by Annecy (1-1). M’Changama, preferred to Olaitan, lost a ball which allowed Djoco to open the scoring. De Préville equalized from distance, after recovering a fist clearance from Callens. The Aubois descend with QRM, Concarneau and Valenciennes.
