Finswimming, weights, table tennis and judo deliver more gold to Cali in Departmental Games 2022

Jamundí said goodbye this Monday (11.21.2022) to the judo competitions of the conventional XXIII Departmental Games, in which Cali obtained gold in mixed Under 18 teams, after defeating the Palmira team in the final, and added 9 gold medals in the fourth day.

The judo champion team was made up of Ana Carolina Belalcázar (52 kilograms), Faridt Ramírez (57), Gabriela Umaña (63), Karen Bermúdez (70), Samuel Ramírez (60), Jhon Deyvid Quiñones (66), Juan José Núñez ( 73) and Maicol Molina (90).

But the capital’s harvest continued in table tennis with gold medals in the Under 15, male (Felipe Santos, Carlos Barona, Samuel Urbano) and female (María Camila Ladino, Natalia Pérez, Juliana Betancourth) teams.

For its part, finswimming began with 4 gold medals for Cali, through Ana Sofía Jurado, who won the 50-meter and 100-meter surface; Jacobo Echavarría in 100 meters surface and Nicolás Dajles in 50 meters bialetas.

Echavarría said that “I feel very excited because it is a very important competition, these three years I worked hard to win it. Four golds were very good for Cali, with how difficult rivals are”.

For her part, Ana Sofía exclaimed: “It is an enormous joy to give everything, I feel proud to compete in this championship.”

In turn, Nicolás Dajles, son of Nicolás and Lorena, a fifth grade student at Sacred Heart of Jesus, commented that “it is important because it is my first gold medal and I plan to win more. I like finswimming because it helps me strengthen my body, it’s very cool”.

Similarly, weightlifting delivered 2 golds in the female children’s category with Luz Adriana Solís, by winning the snatch and total modalities.

This Tuesday will be the fourth day of the conventional jousting and Cali aspires to maintain its triumphant march in Karate do, chess, underwater activities, mountain biking and table tennis.
