Embiid single-handedly leads 76ers to victory with career-high

Basketball top star Joel Embiid almost single-handedly led his Philadelphia 76ers to success in the North American professional league NBA with a career high.

The 28-year-old scored 59 points on Sunday night, contributing more than half of his team’s points to the 105-98 win over the Utah Jazz. Embiid surpassed his previous career high of 50 points, he also collected eleven rebounds, eight assists and seven blocks.

Never before has a player in the NBA managed more than 50 points, ten rebounds, five assists and five blocks at the same time. “I’ve never seen a more dominant performance when you combine defense and offense,” said 76ers coach Doc Rivers. In the final quarter alone, Embiid scored 26 of Philadelphia’s 27 points.

However, 51 points from guard Darius Garland were not enough for the Cleveland Cavaliers to win against the Minnesota Timberwolves (124:129). The Los Angeles Lakers ended their five-game losing streak with a 116-103 loss to the Brooklyn Nets without their groin-injured superstar LeBron James. National player Dennis Schröder was still missing for the Lakers after his thumb injury. The reigning champions, the Golden State Warriors, lost to the Sacramento Kings 115-122.
