Estudiantes fulfilled the mission: win. With this victory, he complied with the premise that was raised when the Pre Federal Basketball Tournament was launched: being in the Play-Off. Estudiantes beat Platense with great authority 65-52 and sealed their passport to the final phase of the competition that grants three places to the next Federal League that will begin next January. Juan Blas Pagella with a double double, 17 points and 20 rebounds, was the great figure of the DJ quintet that, after completing their participation in group C, finished second behind Atenas.

Based on the victory and other results, such as the success of Atenas in Zárate and the victory of Unión, Estudiantes will face Los Indios de Junín in the Play-Off, agreed to the best of three games. The key will begin next Wednesday in UNO and then it will move to Junin lands.

The match was dominated and controlled by Estudiantes from start to finish. The defense, almost suffocating against former DJ Lautaro Noguera, was decisive because the perimeter not only played uncomfortable with the ball in his possession but also only scored 10 points, where the last of them were against a white-and-red defense without so much pressure because the match was settled.

Estudiantes did everything well, especially in the first half where they already achieved a light 16 points. At the mark on Noguera, Navazo’s quintet sought that the visit take long shots and therefore without the ball reaching the low post and that there were no breaks along the axis. This made it possible for Pincha, with the rebounds, to be able to get out quickly in transition. In addition, when he did not run, in the set attacks he searched (from extra passes) for the best player to shoot. This is how Fabris’ points appeared first against, and then the Pagella brothers with a series of triples collapsed the entire defensive system of the Tricolor.

The thing began to have another tint in the second half. With a difference of 16 points (36-20 was the end of the first half), Estudiantes began to slow down their game, especially in attack. He did not run as much, but this did not mean that he did not score, on the contrary, in the third segment he scored 20 points. Defensively he did not change, he put pressure on the ball when it was in the possession of Noguera, and everything depended on Aristu and Jara and the aim of those who took responsibility for shooting three.

After entering the final chapter with the same advantage (16) with which he started the second half, the match became tangled, Pincha was not fine in attack and got mixed up when he wanted to break the first line. Platense not only felt tired, but everything that Estudiantes proposed (in this quarter he scored more times from the free throw line with Juani Bruno than in collective actions) ended up wearing him down in such a way that his attacks, except for individual arrests, always culminated with long missed shots.

Estudiantes won and is in the Pre-Federal Play-Off. Now he will have to fight against the power and locality of Los Indios, a phase that will begin at the UNO Stadium and then continue in Junín.
