Dwight Howard says goodbye to the NBA, we must not forget it for the Hall of Fame

We feel that Dwight Howard never quite recovered from not being named to the NBA All-Time Top 75 Players list. ‘D12’ has lost confidence and, although he has regained a pretty crazy body in recent seasons, has no longer been able to convince a team that he can still provide good service at the highest level.

At almost 37, Dwight Howard will most likely not play in the NBA again. He comes to announce its decision to join Taiwan and the Taoyuan Leopards club. He will not be the only American there, since Deyonta Davis, the former Memphis Grizzlies player (31st Draft pick in 2016) and Troy Williams, who passed through Houston and New York in particular, have been playing there since 2021.

The third stint of “Superman” at the Los Angeles Lakers last season was, most likely, his last experience in the NBA. Although his second half of his career was very disappointing, his accomplishments and his dominance while wearing the Orlando jersey should not be forgotten when considering his induction into the Hall of Fame.

In total, Dwight Howard participated in eight All-Star Games. He was elected as many times in an All-NBA Team, five times in an All-Defensive. Above all, his exploits have been crowned with three titles of defenders of the year. Alone Dikembe Mutombo et Ben Wallace did better, and they both made it into the Hall of Fame.

In 2020, Howard played an important role in the Lakers title within the Orlando bubble, having carried the Magic until the Finals 2009 on his broad shoulders. Statistically, the No. 1 of the 2004 Draft is doing just as well. Not everyone can claim to have been the league’s top rebounder five times and blocker twice, averaging 15.7 points and 11.9 rebounds per game over his entire career.

Good wind to this divisive player and character, who does not deserve to be forgotten.
